2009 Honda Legend

Honda has unveiled the new re-styled 2009 Honda Legend at the 2008 Moscow Motor Show where it receives new lights, bonnet, front wings, boot lid, bumpers and 18-inch wheels.

The Honda Legend is powered by the new powerful 3.7-liter V6 VTEC engine which is equivalent to a V8 engine but still retains the smoothness and fuel economy. The torque has also increased by 20% in the mid-range.

The V6 engine is mated to a 5-speed automatic gearbox with faster shift times and more responsive paddle-shift mounted on the steering wheel. With the increase of torque and improved transmission, the Legend accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.1 seconds, 0.2 seconds faster than before. The fuel economy and CO2 emission have also improved from the previous model.

Inside, the 2009 Honda Legend features NVH reducing technologies which consists of Active Noise Cancellation system (ANC), which cancels out low frequency noise by playing the opposite wave form through the Bose sound system, sound deadening mat, an acoustic windscreen and improved bushing, heated seats for the rear passengers, Bose Audio system with a USB socket for easy connection of an iPod.

As far as safety is concern, the Honda Legend is equipped with Active Head Restraints similar to the items found in the Civic and Accord models, ACE (Advanced Compatibility Engineering) body structure, optional Adaptive Cruise Control and CMBS systems which use millimeter wave radar to detect and help reduce the risk of collisions.

The ride and handling has also been improved with a very advanced SH-AWD system.
