2011 Chevrolet Volt Officially Unveiled

Early this week, General Motors has released the official details and images of the much-anticipated production version of the Chevrolet Volt in conjunction with GM’s 100th anniversary. The Volt is expected to be built at GM’s Detroit-Hamtramck manufacturing facility and the production is scheduled to begin late 2010 for models in the US.

The Chevrolet Volt production car is based on the concept version that was unveiled at the 2007 North American International Auto Show in Detroit where many of the designs such as the closed front grill, athletic stance, rear design graphics, outside rear view mirrors are incorporated to the production version. The Chevrolet Volt is measured at 4,404 mm long, 1798 mm wide and 1430 mm tall with the wheelbase of 2,685 mm.

Saab 9X Air Concept

General Motors has released the first images and details of the Saab 9X Air Concept which will make its debut at the 2008 Paris International Motor Show. The Saab 9X Air Concept is based on the Saab 9X BioHybrid Concept that was unveiled at the March’s Geneva Motor Show.

The 9X Air Concept is measured at 4,430 mm long, 1,390 mm wide and 1,830 mm tall but still able to accommodate four adults and will be available in both cabrio and hatch versions.

Chevrolet Orlando Concept

General Motors Europe has unveiled the first images of the Chevrolet Orlando Concept which will make its debut at the 2008 Paris International Motor Show in October. The Orlando Concept is a seven-seat family multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) with sport utility-like design and spacious interior.

The Chevrolet Orlando Concept is based on the Cruze compact sedan and aim to be a sport utility, family van and wagon.

Vauxhall Insignia Sports Tourer

Vauxhall has released the initial details of the new Insignia Sports Tourer which will make its first debut at the Paris Motor Show on 2 October 2008. The Vauxhall Insignia Sports Tourer will only be available in the UK market in the second quarter of 2009 featuring two new engine variants, a more powerful turbodiesel and a smaller capacity turbocharged petrol unit, in addition to the five powerplants available from launch in the saloon and hatchback models. In the near future, the Sports Tourer will come with an ecoFLEX which could reduce emissions and fuel consumption.

2010 Cadillac CTS Sport Wagon

Cadillac has presented the 2010 Cadillac CTS Sport Wagon at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance which offers ample interior space and includes a range of 6-cylinder engine choices. The CTS Sport Wagon is based on the Cadillac CTS sport sedan and the CTS Coupe Concept and will be available at Cadillac dealerships in spring 2009.

The Cadillac CTS Sport Wagon has the same 113.4-inch (2,880 mm) wheelbase as the CTS sport sedan, 0.3-inch (7 mm) shorter but with a 25 cubic feet (720-liter) cargo area.
