General Motors has released the first images and details of the Saab 9X Air Concept which will make its debut at the 2008 Paris International Motor Show. The Saab 9X Air Concept is based on the Saab 9X BioHybrid Concept that was unveiled at the March’s Geneva Motor Show.

The 9X Air Concept is measured at 4,430 mm long, 1,390 mm wide and 1,830 mm tall but still able to accommodate four adults and will be available in both cabrio and hatch versions.

The Saab 9X Air Concept will be powered by a turbocharged 1.4-liter E85 flex-fuel engine coupled to an electric motor running on lithium-ion batteries and mated to a six-speed dual clutch transmission. The powertrain produces 200 hp (147 kW) and 280 Nm (200 lb-ft) of torque thus able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 8.1 seconds with the top speed of 231 km/h.

There are few sources on the internet reported that the 9X Air concept is expected to into production next year with few ranges of powertrains including advanced diesel, flex-fuel engines and possibly hybrid.
